The Colleges:

GEOS Auckland Language Centre was established in 1984 and is one of the oldest private English language schools in New Zealand. It is situated in downtown Auckland amidst great shopping, restaurants and nightlife and close to a paradise of water-sports.

GEOS Christchurch Language Centre can be found next to the peaceful River Avon in the heart of NZ’s  “English Garden City”, with access to huge choice of outdoor sports including skiing and snowboarding.

GEOS Wellington Language Centre is in the centre of NZ’s buzzing capital, in easy reach of cinemas, art galleries and an endless choice of cafés!

All centres are government-approved and registered with the quality assurance body ENGLISH NEW ZEALAND (formerly FIELSNZ).

The Courses:

From General English and Business English to Examination preparation programmes (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, FCE, CAE), Young Learners, Activity Courses and Study Tours there is something to cater for every taste and English level.

The Teachers:

Naturally, all our teachers are qualified by Cambridge or Trinity College, and we are proud to have five IELTS and Cambridge examiners among our teaching staff.

Our approach is very communicative and learners are encouraged to use and practice the language as much as possible. The teaching methods are skills-based (reading, writing, speaking and listening), with vocabulary, grammar and structures introduced around interesting and relevant themes.

The Facilities:

The colleges are well equipped with Self-Access Centres for private study, free Internet facilities, kitchens and large student common rooms. There are weekly sports and sightseeing activities, and fantastic weekend trips to Rotorua, the Bay of Islands, Nelson and Queenstown. Wellington is the ideal base to explore many of the filming locations in ‘The Lord of the Rings’

The Homestay:

All our families are personally inspected and we know that they’ll give students a great welcome and treat them as one of the family.

We can also organise other accommodation such as youth hostels, and student flats.

The GEOS Network:

Thanks to our international network of GEOS schools, which consists of centres in 6 cities in Australia and many more world-wide, we are able to offer a very special programme called SUPERLINK.

Students who wish to study for 20 weeks or more in New Zealand and Australia, will receive a free one-way air ticket between the two countries.

For study in Auckland and Christchurch or Wellington the minimum booking is just 12 weeks to receive a free return ticket!
