Digital
design technology is transforming the world – of entertainment, of
education, of business, of virtually every aspect of life. These
exciting tools offer endless opportunities for the people who master
them and put them to work to unleash their creativity.
Today,
Natcoll Design Technology is New Zealand’s leading specialist provider
of NZQA-approved creative digital design technology courses. Operating
from inner-city campuses in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, we
provide a pathway to a career in multimedia, computer graphic design,
web development, animation and video post production.
Natcoll
is an NZQA registered private tertiary education provider with campuses in
Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. It was established in 1997 and has
grown rapidly since that time. It offers 35-week diploma courses for those
wanting skills in computer graphic design, multimedia, website design,
animation and video post
production.
All
of our courses are accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
We specialise in teaching a curriculum focusing on the digital
communication technologies that serve as a foundation to all business and
commercial practice throughout the world.
Your future starts at Natcoll, where you have the opportunity to develop
your creative abilities, to learn about digital technology and to develop
a work ethic that will make you a competitive member of the employment
market.
Natcoll has several intakes throughout the year. The varied start dates
for intakes allow students to commence their studies at a time
convenient to them. Clear study guidelines are provided, with staff
available to help you manage your time and meet deadlines.
The courses are intensive and guidelines are set for the completion of
assignment work. By replicating industry conditions we encourage
students to work under pressures similar to those found in the
workplace.
From
October 2004 all Natcoll campus will offer iCreate a 15 foundation
course in digital design.
The campuses are all centrally located in modern, multi-storied
buildings. Each has a spacious student common room. The teaching
facilities include well equipped computer suites with up-to-date
software and equipment. The campuses are all within walking distance of
shops, art galleries, libraries and public transport.
Natcoll is committed to helping students in the development of their
careers. A range of employment-related services are offered and
information is provided to assist students exploring, identifying and
pursuing their individual career goals.
Natcoll has been a major contributor in the revision of pre-press
qualifications and the development of a new curriculum for the industry.
The technical expertise within the College and the links to industry
have meant that students undertaking Natcoll’s courses are working in
conditions similar to those found in the workplace.
Natcoll’s entry criteria are flexible and do not rely solely on
academic qualifications. All applicants are interviewed in person and
campus staff will ensure that creative abilities as well as prior
learning are taken into account when selecting the appropriate diploma
course.
The high staff/student ratio allows students to benefit from working
with experienced tutors. The self-paced work modules allow students to
comfortably follow their own particular strengths.
Each campus has a student representative body which meets regularly with
campus principals and campus staff. Issues relating to courses and
facilities are quickly dealt with through these forums.
Here's what other students have said about our courses
Tom Shand- Diploma Multimedia 2001

disciplines."
International
Student Information
Natcoll
welcomes students from around the world. The intimate nature of our
campuses and the small class sizes give international students the
opportunity to study in an environment that encourages learning, while
the vocational focus of our diploma courses provides skills and
work-place knowledge that are recognised world-wide.
English Language Requirement
There is no requirement for international students to have a formal
English language qualification to study at Natcoll. However, Natcoll
reserves the right to only enrol those international students who can
demonstrate a functional command of day-to-day English speaking skills
that will not disadvantage them during their course of study. As a guide
we recommend an IELTS General Training Qualification of 5.5 and a
minimum IELTS 6.0 for listening and speaking.
