Introduction:
The University of Otago was the first university to be established in New Zealand ((1869) and is internationally recognised for the quality of its teaching and research. The University offers world class courses to 19,000 students including over 2,000 international students, from 80 countries.
Otago’s strengths are in medical and health sciences as well as computer, natural and physical sciences.

The Language Centre and Foundation Year is located on the university campus in our own purpose-built facility.
We are part of University of Otago, so you will have access to resources including laboratories, computer suites, libraries, gymnasiums, lecture theatres, Clubs and Societies, and recreation and health services.
When you enrol you will get a University of Otago student id-card, giving you discounts on products, services, entertainment, and travel.

· The University of Otago Language Centre offers one term of 6 weeks and three terms of 12 weeks. This includes 22.5 hours of tuition per week, supervised self study and activities. Only15 students per class
· We use the latest teaching technologies. You will use our Sony multimedia language lab, i-mac computer suite and Independent Learning Centre, and you will have access to all University of Otago resources
