Tai Poutini Polytechnic is an exciting and vibrant place, one of the fastest growing polytechnics in New Zealand, and able to help you on the path to gaining knowledge and skills. To make this more accessible for you, we offer our Greymouth courses with NO or LOW fees depending on choice of programme. As well as our West Coast courses, we also offer options in Auckland, Christchurch and Wanaka. Our reputation for the quality of our graduates is outstanding. Tai Poutini offers a range of mainstream and specialist courses which focus on preparing you today for tomorrow's careers. Our departments range from art and carving to business and computing, audio engineering and music, to catering and hospitality. We also specialise in outdoor recreation courses, including adventure guiding and ski patrol. Specialist outdoor recreation programmes including Ski Patrol are perfectly located in the South Island and attract people from all over New Zealand. One and two year Jade Carving courses are unique and situated to make the most of Te Wai Pounamu, the West Coast where the jade comes from. In Auckland and Christchurch, Tai Poutini Polytechnic has established the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand. At the Central Campus in Greymouth there are 15 full time courses, a comprehensive Adult and Community Education programme of night classes and short courses and the base for a range of distance learning courses via an audio graphic network. We also offer courses for industry ranging from Scaffolding and Rigging to Search and Rescue training. ... is our main base, with our Greymouth campus catering for up to 500 students studying carpentry, automotive, outdoor recreation, advanced leadership and guiding, jade and hard stone carving, business administration, Information Communication Technology, hospitality, professional chefing, eco-tourism and hairdressing (Salon Support). Situated on the South Island's West Coast, where you
can live and study amongst some of New Zealand's most stunning and
majestic landscapes and access superb outdoor recreation facilities. In
2003 there will be no tuition fees on all but three courses, which are at
50% of the normal fee. The campus is on the main road, close to the main
shopping area, no transport problems, great people, friendly service.
... in Victoria Street is the home of the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ) and our Auckland students. Close to major bus and motorway routes and with purpose-built facilities and great courses in Music Performance, Audio Engineering and Special Events on offer. New from 2004 will be the Diploma in Music Event Management. Check out the free DJ short course. ... in High Street, we offer the Certificate and Diploma in Audio Engineering from purpose-built facilities and from 2004 will be offering the Certificate in Live Sound and Event Production programme.
... our renowned Ski Patrol course will be offered again in 2004, as well as our snowblasting training courses. On "The Edge" - Treble Cone ski area - we have a ski-to day lodge - a unique facility to cater for avid snowies.
