Study at Tai Poutini Polytechnic New Zealand

Tai Poutini Polytechnic is an exciting and vibrant place, one of the fastest growing polytechnics in New Zealand.

Tai Poutini Polytechnic is based on the West Coast of the South Island with campuses in Auckland, Christchurch and Wanaka.  The Polytechnic has a national reputation for quality, innovative, niche courses, and small class sizes.

The fabulous West Coast is our main base, with our Greymouth Campus catering for up to 500 students studying on one of the 17 full-time programmes offered.  Tai Poutini Polytechnic also hosts a comprehensive Adult and Community Education programme of night classes and short courses.

The West Coast is an outdoor mecca with the Buller River, Paparoa National Park, Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki, Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers, the Southern Alps, Temple Basin Ski Field, climbing at Charleston, lots of lakes and the hottest kayaking in the country.  It’s your backyard.  It is also the right place for jade (pounamu) carving courses because the Coast is the source of all New Zealand pounamu.

Fantastic Central Auckland in Victoria Street is the home of the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand and our Auckland students.  Close to major bus and motorway routes and with purpose-built studios and great courses in music performance, audio engineering and live sound production.

Musically centred Christchurch in High Street, we offer the Certificate and Diploma programmes in Audio Engineering and Music Production.  The Campus is also branded the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand.

Our Mountain Education Centre of New Zealand operates from Wanaka with a specialist course in Ski Patrol based on the Treble Cone Ski Area, where we have a ski-to day lodge - a unique facility to cater for our trainee ski patrollers and leadership and guiding students.

Tai Poutini Polytechnic also offers national courses for industry ranging from scaffolding and rigging to search and rescue training.

Whatever your future plans, when you choose to study at Tai Poutini Polytechnic, you are preparing today for tomorrow's career.
