This is a three-year
full-time day programme that meets the requirements for a Level
B professional qualification.
This is an applied vocational programme with a strong emphasis
on the integration of social work theory to practice. Year One
and Year Two students will be required to complete a compulsory
twelve week fieldwork placement for each year. Year Three
students will be required to complete two six weeks policy
fieldwork placements.
There are four core papers in each year and each of these have
been divided into two parts. The papers are:
Social Science Research - Inquiry
Social Work Theory - Knowledge
Policy & Law - Decision-making
Practise Skills/Practicum. Fieldwork placements will be negotiated between the programme tutors, the practice supervisor and the student.
Career Opportunities:
Graduates are ready to work in the community and relevant public sector agencies in a variety of social work or social service practice.
